Blackburn Rovers in contract talks with key midfielder

Blackburn Rovers are in talks with Bradley Dack over a new contract.

The midfielder made his 100th appearance for the club against Reading at the weekend and is set to be rewarded with a new deal, as per a report by the Lancashire Telegraph.

Dack, who is 25 years-old, is in red-hot form for Rovers at the moment and has bagged three in three for the Lancashire outfit.

He joined Blackburn in 2017 from Gillingham for just £750,000 and has since scored 40 goals in 100 games in all competitions.

His manager Tony Mowbray was full of praise for him at the weekend and said, as per the Lancashire Telegraph: “To score 40 goals in 100 appearances is pretty special for a player who’s not an out and out no.9.”

“He doesn’t just hang around the goal, he works his socks off, gets in the six yard and that’s some ratio for a No.10. You’d think that No.10s want to score spectacular goals from 25 yards but Dack scores most of his from inside the six yard box which is a fantastic credit to him that he works so hard to get that high up the pitch and contribute to our passing game as well.”

Prior to his move to Ewood Park, Dack had spells at Charlton Athletic and non-league side Corinthian as a youngster before moving to Gillingham in 2008. He scored 38 goals in 185 games for the Gills.
